  1. Arnaud,
Thanks for creating the blog. Would it be possible to post the day by day program in a more readable format?
    2 requests for group members.
    1) Would whoever took the group photo of the picnic at Guedelon and also the group photo at Chambourd (or was it Chenenceaux- it's all starting to blur together) please email jpg copies - wolpies4@aol.com
Thanks so much. Hope everyone had an easy trip home. Best wishes to all.

    Good morning, all.
We slept in till 8 am this morning after our grueling drive from Paris to St. Remy. Actually, the only grueling part was getting out of Paris. We took the shuttle to CDG airport to pick up the car, so I wouldn’t have to negotiate the city streets, and so that I would know my way back in to return the car. However, CDG is on the wrong side of the city for the direction we had to travel so it necessitated using the “ring” road around the edge which was packed. Arnaud, suggested I rent out of Orly as we could immediately jump on the A6 highway from there. If I had changed our itinerary, however, it would have cost me another hundred dollars from the original price, so I declined. As is turned out, it took an hour and a half to travel from CDG to Orly. Oh well, my time is worth an hour and a half for a hundred dollars.
Once we got on the A6 it was clear sailing to Lyon, where we arrived around 5:30, just in time for another, shorter, rush hour. Then it was onto the A7 and back up to 130 kph, or so. We have an Opel station wagon that handles well, although it doesn’t have the power I’m used to, but at about six dollars a gallon of gas, that’s probably a good thing. What with the cost of gas and the tolls, it wasn’t cheap getting down here, but the hotel here made up for it all. Pulling into the Le Mas des Carassins Hotel was like trekking across the Sahara Desert for days without water only to stumble into a lovely oasis. The grounds are about three acres of gardens with pool, patio seating for dinner (which I had ordered ahead of time), a gorgeous room the size of Delaware and a walk-in shower of stone with a glass door that doesn't leak. In France. Go figure. We had an outstanding multi-course dinner on the patio and crashed until 8 am. Life is good.
